If you have a website that offers a free product or service (ie WordPress themes, icons, WinAmp skins,) PayPal offers an excellent means of collecting voluntary compensation for your work. Check out an overview of the Pay Pal donation service here.
Register Your Free Pay Pal Account
The donation option is only available to Premier && Business Accounts, which are free to register but withhold a percentage of all transactions (summarized here).
Click here to register your account for free. The link will bring you to the sign up page, where you can select either the Premier or Business account. Simply fill inyour contact information to create the account, and enter your credit card or bank account for funding/withdrawals. (Note: Pay Pal is a highly reputable online service, so you have nothing to worry about when you give them your financial information.)
Inserting HTML Code For Your Button
Once you’ve created your account and are log in, check out the Technical Overview for Implementing Donations (only visible to registered users.) It gives you instructions for entering the relevant information step by step, which will be used to auto generate the code for your donation button.
That done, you will be given a snippet of HTML code to copy and paste into your website source code wherever you want the donation button to appear.
