There are many such outrageously unrealistic claims on the internet today, which even in their very ludicrosity appeal deeply to the consumer mentality ingrained within us all.

As the number grows daily and our better judgement erodes under the onslaught, how is the innocent web surfer to differentiate between the scam and the legitimate business opportunity?

There’s a couple things to consider.

In this example, we examin the website http://www.yourvideobank.com/ (hereafter abbreviated as “YVB.com”) for validity, integrity and quality of information.

Signs of an Internet Scam

1) First Impressions Are Everything
The first thing you notice about any internet bussiness offer or a work from home opportunity is (of course) the website it’s on! In our example YVB.com, the site is visibly tacky and poorly constructed. Everything about it is cheap – it looks like the efforts of a middle schooler in the fifteen minutes between gym and math. A lousy website is a classic indicater of a bogus offer, or at the very least a useless one.

2) So um, we have this thing that, like, makes you super rich, and you should totally buy it!
How much information does the website actually offer up front? Do they give you anything to go on? What are they doing to build up your trust in them and their product?

YVB.com is pretty open about their system of choice, but there’s still one problem: their service is redundant. All they’re offering you is Pay Per Click advertising (like Adsense) and Affiliate marketing (like Clickbank.com) both of which you can use on your own for free. There’s no discernible reason for you to be going through this website.
* Additionally, the type of programs YVB.com is utilizing aren’t “plug n’ play” - it’s never as simple as pasting a couple links on certain websites then relaxing and waiting to be bathed in riches. You also need to implement some kind of keyword targeting straegy, as well as generating a flow of moderate to very high traffic, among other things.

3) A $6000 value NOW for the special limited time offer valid for the next three minutes it’s ONLY…
Bottom line: how much? YVB.com is at an advantage on this one: they don’t appear to be asking for any money! I’ve seen offers ranging from “$1.00 to cover shipping costs” to “Limited time special price of $149 $97″ and beyond. I am of the opinion that most of these #1 Secrets, Strategies and Insider Suggestions are composed of 90+% outdated and/or  commonly available material, with the most crucial bits generally being omitted. Am I being cynical?  Only a bit, if that. Take my word for it and save yourself the price of coming to the same conclusion.

All in all, I don’t see the benefit of using the YVB.com service, and their overall setup doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence in me. It’d probably be safe taking it for a test run, but I seriously doubt it will pay off. In any way.

As a good rule of thumb, before signing up for any kind of offer like this one check out Scam.com, it’s a great place to get a second opinion. You can usually find reviews of the exact program you’re looking at, or have people experienced with scams give it a look over for you.
